Capable of cable laying operations, marine civil engineering, and a wide variety of other applications.

“Asahi” can maintain accurate vessel position control using the DPS, even under conditions with external factors such as tidal currents, wind, and waves.
Additionally, it is capable of supporting a variety of scenarios in marine civil engineering and many other applications, starting with cable laying operations.
The deck layout can be altered as required by the specific project.

A dedicated barge for laying and burying submarine cables and water pipes.
Equipped with the DPS for stationary positioning and a standard turntable. The dedicated mothership for the large ROV “Ditch Queen” specialized in burial and surveying.
After laying cables, subsequent burial construction by the “Ditch Queen” is possible.
Like “Awaji,” it operates as a multipurpose DPS work barge.
Capable of automatically laying cables along a preset route.
The Dynamic Positioning System (DPS) is a system that automatically controls the position and orientation of a laying/work barge against external forces (tidal currents, waves, and wind) by computing control signals to each thruster.
Automatic laying is possible by inputting a preset route into the DPS. Positioning uses the Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS), and azimuth measurements use a gyrocompass.
